The offer is out! While I have been cutting down signifcantly lately on buying, this is one I will continue to purchase - if at necessarily reduced qty.  The offer (of ordered before Aug. 15th):

2004 Vineyard Designate Mixed Set (6 bottles): $395
(optional wood box: $40)

2004 Vineyard Designate Single Bottles - $75 each
 - Howell Mnt
 - Fifteen-Fourty
 - Second Chance
 - One Lane Bridge
 - Wykoff
 - Ritherford Dust

2004 Fefteen Fourty Petite Syrah: $50 (limit 2 btls)
2004 Napa Petite Syrah: $35

Magnums of the Vineyard Designates are also offered at $1000 for the mixed 6-pack, or $175 each.

Although not as firmly convicted as Winetex about "no more cab" I will be passing on this one as well. I'll continue to buy a few higher end cabs each year such as Bressler and Switchback just to keep a small amount feeding the pipeline at about half the rate I'm consuming them in order to get that section of the cellar to start contracting. I'll also be doing the same thing with California Pinot Noir substituting more Oregon Pinot Noir until I get that section shored up a bit. Etc...
Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.

Part of the reason I'm so convicted is the large amount of Neal cabs I bought in the past.

This is one of my hardest passes, but pass I shall.  I really like Neal's cabs and PS.  I really appreciate the new flexibility to mix and match wines on the order form.   I hope to start buying again in future vintages.Â

I want to buy a mixed 6-pack of the cabs - any thoughts on which ones are best?  Has anyone tasted these (barrel or otherwise)?

We tasted the 03s on our last trip to Neal. I gave the nod to the Wykoff, but they were all very good.

Did anyone notice that Chafen didn't make the cut this year and has been replaced by the Rutherford Dust as the 6th SVD.
I believe that hast year the Rutherford Dust was offered separately.

I'll probably pass. I need to bring my purchases more in line with my consumption.

Pass. I like everything about this winery (people, price) except the wine, and the fact that they still don't ship to CT. It's not bad wine, mind you, but every bottle has cried out for a decade in the cellar to come around. I am not young enough or patient enough to buy wine that MUST be cellared that long. I don't mind spreading my purchases over a long stretch, resulting in some bottles being held for long periods. But I don't want to be forced to hold all such bottles for so long. That, and the double-shipping make this a pass.
Beta testing a new signature.

Received my set of 2004 Designates today along with 3 Zin and 3 Petite Syrah. They included an updated Napa map as well.

Never tried the PS....looking forward to it.
