Jason, thanks for the message. For those that are curious, this is an attempt to sell at higher than retail, higher than WineCommune prices. $350 per bottle! My sense is that there are more efficient venues than this forum to sell things like this at such exorbitant prices.

Wow and to think I have moved over 8 cases of SQN at cost to members of this board. What a fool I have been.

JasonH, it is simply a matter of ethics. You have made your affiliations in the wine trade known and have allowed members of this forum to benefit from your connections. I have purchased wine from you in the past and hope to do so again in the future. Some of our best posters own or work at wine stores. From time to time they allow members of this forum to purchase tightly allocated wines at favorable prices, wines that would disappear instantly if they put them on their shelves. We benefit from their knowledge. That is one camp.

In another camp, we have new posters that work at say, Suburban Wines & Liquors, who apparently have priced their tightly allocated wines at such levels that they don't sell out immediately. What to do? Post as a private individual, respond to email messages with your private email address and try to sell your wine on the message boards.

I doubt the other Jason was intentionally being dishonest, but why not bypass the middleman and go directly Jason's store if you are interested. Since you won't find the link in his user profile or via his email correspondence, I will provide it here:

Sorry for the rant.

Me thinks that the originator of this thread may not ever get to 3 posts.

Good detective work folks.

David Z,

To clarify though, I do not work for a retail store nor is SQN a wine I represent.

I just work on the golden rule of treat others as you would like to be treated. I get for you at the real cost, hopefully if something interests me you do the same. Fosters a sense of community and looking out for others, even though I could have made a lot selling the wines for what they really go for on winebid etc.

From a marketing perspective... why would he post Tanzer's 94 as the lone "expert review" when RP gave it a 100? I'd have "Robert Parker 100" in there in a heart beat and made sure it was searchable.

all wine stores affiliated with wine access only use tanzer raitings on their websites. in emails they will use parker, wine spectator scores, etc.

i know suburban can be very expensive, but i am surprised they would use this tactic to sell a wine. if anything, i find it inappropriate without contacting brad first.

Hmmm. Seeing that avatar does seem to add to your weird-O-ness.

Kidding. Funny.
