Stirling Fine Wines and Vinocellar.com have teamed up again to create a special offer on an absolutely delicious wine - the 2001 Mitolo GAM Shiraz, recently rated 94 points by Robert Parker. His tasting note reads:

"The formidable 2001 Shiraz G. A. M. exhibits a saturated purple color in addition to classic aromas of French oak intermixed with blackberry liqueur, pepper, and spice. Full-bodied, rich, and intense with admirable balance, elegance, and overall harmony, this French-styled, complex, nuanced Shiraz will drink well for 12-15 years."

I've been waiting for this. I have a standing order with Mudpuppy for a mixed case of shiraz which includes 4 GAM. The salivating process has begun!!

In addition to Gavin's TN in the Mitolo Jester (different wine) thread, I had this a few weeks back and LOVED it. In fact, I bought four and went back for two more after trying it.

It's more complicated, sophisticated, and lush than many other Aussie Shiraz I've had lately (including the Henry's Drive Reserve, Shirvington, M-P 9).

Give it 3 hours in the decanter and it'll sing to you!

Hi

I have the whole Mitolo range on my taste bench currently, tried and enjoyed the Jester, light oak treatment I enjoyed, rich core of fruit, and a creamy texture. Seemed quite a feminine wine style, if there is such a thing, very good wine making.

Also there is a stelvin (wine screw cap) and I'll always support a producer who does that.

I have had and thoroughly enjoyed the 2000 GAM, and so am looking forward to the 2001, plus the Savitar and the exciting new Serpico, which is a Cabernet made in the Amarone style ... I'll keep you informed as I work my way through them.

I know, its a tough job, but someone ...................
