| Mark Herold just replied to an e-mail I sent him:
"Please look for our release letter, which will be mailed out on the first day of February."
I hope everyone took this one into account as well.

Only that Parker scored the 2002 a 94-96 from the barrel.

| Gosh, only a 94-96. Oh no, that just makes resistance impossible. | | | |

| The mag price is comical, but I'm sure there will be takers. | | | |

| I'm in for a 3-pack, same as last year. Won't be touching the mags at that price. | | | 2008: the end of an error | |

| FWIW - Last year 750s were $95 each, mags $275 each, 289% premium. This year 750s are $100 each, mags $285 each, 285% premium. So, this year's mags are a slightly better deal than they were last year. Also, I don't recall anyone mentioning that last year's mag were expensive/overpriced. I wonder it there is residual backlash from the pricing of Kobalt's mags? | | | |

I didn't buy a mag last year and I wouldn't be buying one this year.

| Does anyone have feedback on the 2002 Merus (other than the Parker or WS barrel scores)? | | | |

| I'm on the fence on this one as well. Any insight or thoughts will help tremendously. Trying to cut down on the cash hemorrhage. | | | |

| depending on your intentions with the wine and how soon you want it (i.e. do you want it immediately?)
1) The 01 wine can be had here in LA locally for less than $150. If you really need to get it, you can. 01's are still on the shelves for as low as $135
2) Commune prices for the wine unless it gets some crazy score have held between 140-170. if you really ned to get it , you can after release.
I haven't tasted the 02 e myself but its $100 per bottle now and while it may be very good, it now enters save until a couple years territory. However, I don't consider Merus a truly "elite wine" and I wouldn't drop a mailer to get to it simply because they can be 'had" for not too much of a premium.
My 2 cents
PS: I'm picking up mine but expect to get allocated only 3

Ryan, to me these seem like good reasons to pick up the wine via mailer. Outside of a handful of wines (SE, Marcassin, etc.) even the likes of Sine Qua Non, Araujo, Shafer Hillside Select, Colgin, Bryant, etc. can be found for approx. a 50% mark-up, and I wouldn't necessarily recomend that people drop off this lists.
Just my opinion...I really enjoy this wine so I'll be buying a case again.
