Martinelli Update:
I just talked to Martinelli and they said that you can add up to 4 bottles of the just released 2001 Guiseppe and Luisa Zin to your mailer order at $36 a bottle.
BUT, they said if you want MORE than 4 bottles of the Guiseppe and Luisa, on MONDAY March 3 ONLY- you can call the winery and order up to a case. (something to do with a special barrel tastings weekend offer that would be avail. only on Monday) & You don't need to be on the mailing list to get the G&L.

I just ordered up a case of the G&L, and will be sharing it with Dr. T.

They also had the RRV and Reserve Pinot Noir available ($35 and $40, respectively) in "unlimited" quantities, so I grabbed six of each.

I just called (1-800-346-1627) and ordered a case of the G&L along with some Pinots, S/B, Gewurtz and Chards.

Ask for Lindsey. Fun to talk to. And she took my unlimited budget and exceeded it!

they just told me 8 bottle limit on the guiseppe.

I called last Thursday to ask why I hadn't received my offering yet. They told me I wasn't on the list. (So much for e-mailing them a year or so ago.) Anyway, they put me on the "waiting" list.

When I called this afternoon I asked if I could buy some wine. Lindsey, who I have never talked to before in my life, answered, "If you have been a good boy the chances are good."

I took it from there. She was lots of fun to talk to. And she sold four cases to me.

She did ask if I was on the list and I told here the above sob story. I don't think it would have mattered though. I'd just call and ask for Lindsey, tell her you've been a good boy, and that David sent you. That and $5 should get you a piece of bubble gum almost anywhere in the world.

Lindsay sold me my two cases also. She told me that "Mrs. Martinelli said that there was an 8-bottle limit on the G&L", so I mentioned that a friend had mentioned something about 12 bottles, and ...

... I didn't need to finish my sentence. "OK. 8, 12, whatever. I don't feel like arguing, and I'd rather sell you more wine anyway. Would you like a case of Pinot Noir?"

Hhmm, interesting. I have the mailer as well and it looks like a call will be in order tomorrow, even if I'm too late.

Lindsay is a trip, she can have her moods but she is always very helpful. Anyway, I called today and got the G&L, but they just sold out of the EVO. When I called the other day they still had some in stock so I figured I would order it with the G&L and get it all done at once. Bad move by me.

I was surprised when I got my case of G&L this morning, I was offered some more '99 Three Sisters chardonnay. Didn't think that would still be available. Will be at winery in 2 weeks to pick up mailer, G&L and whatever else they may have hidden.

What is "EVO"?

EVO is a Zinfandel that was grown accross next to the Jackass Vinyard. It was a small release and cost around $25 bucks. Mountainman wrote notes on it if you want to look it up.

I did ask if they had any of the small lot of just Luisa Vyd and she said that they had only done that once but they might do it again next year.
