| A place that I eat at every once in a while that has a very reasonably priced wine list has this one for $68. I think that Parker rated this 94 points. Silver Oak has a very bad rep as far as value goes but this seems like a good deal at a resteraunt - any thoughts, I'm going there tonight.

| No, it isn't as good as I thought. See the tasting notes request thread to find out why.

| $68.00 @ a Restaurant is Not bad. Mailing List price is $67.00 (not that it is worth that much $$$). But, in a Retaurant, I would pay it. | | | |

| LCC, Actually, I meant I was at the winery and bought it there. We hand-carried it home, so no shipping charges. I forget how much tax was, around 7% I suppose. | | | |

| Speaking of incredible restaurant pricing...just had a 2000 Kistler Sonoma Vineyard Chard for a grand total of.....$65.00. Can't beat that. | | | |

| More on this topic. Went to a Restaurant in NYC:
1996 Silver Oak Alex: $180.00. 1997 Kistler Les Nois. Chard: $160.00. 1996 Ridge M.B.: $280.00.
Needless to say I passed on both. We ordered drinks. The Wine-prices were outrageous (for every single Wine).

| LCC,
Good move! Unfortunately, there are people out there willing to shell out that kind of money, which probably helps to keep those prices up there.

| I think the tax in Napa is still 7.5%. It is better than 8.25% in my area. But that may increase with California's huge deficit. | | | |
