| Well, it must be spring mailer season as they are arriving daily it seems....
Aubert arrived today offering: 2001 Ritchie Vineyard (RP 93-95, 702 cases) 2001 Quarry Vineyard (RP 92-94; 277 cases)
also, the letter mentions that they completed their first Pinot Noir crush in 2001 so a PN is on the way. They are getting huge scores..... Was anyone on last years mailer? Anyone have Aubert on their must have list?

| I got mine today as well. I think $50.00 for Chard is a little steep unless it's Kistler. Any other help out there? | | | |

| I'm on the fence also - GMT seems to imply that this may be the cost of entry for next year's Pinot however... | | | 2008: the end of an error | |

| I've had the 2000 several times and loved it. The quality is there - no question - you'll have to judge the price for your self | | | |

| I just signed up about two weeks ago. I have not received my mailer yet, but did receive an email from Teresa telling me to expect it.
After Kistler, etc., I almost wish I had waited the two weeks.

| I rated the Aubert 2000 Chard in the low nineties last year. Very enjoyable. I blew through the three bottles I purchased in about a month. Aubert is a skilled winemaker. If you liked the Chards he made for Peter Michael then you will like Aubert wines. Still, I did not go out of my way to purchase more nor did I sign up for the mailing list - too much Chard.
Buying Chard in order to get the unreleased Pinot is not something I would do - Peter Michael's Pinots have never been as good as they should be. Way too much wood. Sonoma Coast grapes could make the difference however. | | | |

| I was curious about the forthcoming Aubert Pinot Noirs so I contacted Mark Aubert. Looks very promising.
Dear John, Thank you for showing interest in our fledgling Pinot upstart. My plan is to make 3-4 single vineyard pinots all from the Sonoma Coast/Russian River AVA's. We are using only "selection marsalle" pinot clones which have a pedigree back to Vosne Romanee. We have altogether about 12 acres under total Aubert Wines control. This should equate to around 19000 bottles per year more or less...Should be quite yummy we hope.
Thanks again,

| I can appreciate your passing because you have "too much chard". But for someone who is not on the Kistler/Marcaissan/Martinelli lists, is this winery a good place to look for high quality wine? In other words, if you couldn't get chards from the above-listed wineries, would you consider stocking up on Aubert? | | | Beta testing a new signature. | |

well said JimmyV.....I am not drowning in Chardonnay either.
I am not on Kistler, Marrtinelli, Dehlinger, Rochioli...places where I have to buy so much chardonnay to get access to reds that I am tapped out which leaves me seriously considering this wine. Plus, I was only allocated 3 bottles so can't really break the bank...but I am trying to be forward looking here.

| I would only buy it if I also was not getting Brewer Clifton, Kongsgaard, and Peter Michael in addition to the others previously mentioned. Probably forgetting a few as well. The 2000 was a very fine effort regardless. | | | |
