Howell Mountain Vineyards. Should I bite?
2001 Old Vine Zin @ $24
2000 HMV Cab @ $36
2000 Black Sears Zin @ $42
1999 Cab @ $60
from Michael Beatty, Joyce Black Sears and Jerry Sears.
Is this a pass or purchase?

JonesWineNo1: Care to elaborate? I have never had anything from them so any insight you could offer would be most helpful...

They are well made over priced run of the mill wines. I have never tasted a single one that I found exciting and worthy of purchase.

The Black Sears Zin is a consistently fine wine, but I would not feel compelled to purchase from the mailer - it is generally available in the retail marketplace. In fact, I picked up a couple bottles of the 2000 on Winebid for $25 per.
