| I don't buy very many Brunello's, but I would be doing my collection wrong if I didn't include any 97's in it. I wan't to buy 3 bottles or so of 2 or three diffrent labels. I am also trying to keep the price tag under $50. I was thinking of the Banfi, 97 from Tanzer and 94 from WS. I can get it in Delaware for 45.99 and no sales tax . What are your thoughts. TCK | | |

| currently at under $50 the pickings will be slim. best case you will end up with a 90-91 point wine. try the campogiovanni, il poggione or the frescobaldi castelgiocondo. if you can find it in the high $50's, i would buy the fanti. the antinori can be had in the low to mid $50's, but i think it is over rated. the fanti was much better. | | | |

| Do you guys think that the Banfi is a good buy? Is it a good example of the typeicity associated with Brunello? I'm still trying to get a grip on this region.

| The only other two that I can find in my price range are Il Poggione at 43.99 and Camigliano at 34.99.
Any thoughts.

| Haven't tasted either one. Parker hasn't reviewed them either. | | | |

| ... of course, Parker is INCREDIBLY slow to get these ratings out. They should be in the next WA, but we need a real Italian expert.
Where is Enoselsa? | | | Cheers, y'all

| Parker has had published reviews of 97 Brunellos for over a year. I checked the archive on erobertparker to see if either of these relatively cheap Brunellos had been reviewed in the meantime. Zachys has the Ciacci in stock for $100 a bottle. Gets a 97 from Parker. I have tasted it and Parker's review is spot on. Buy that one - it will only get more expensive (I bought it for $720 a case on futures). | | | |

| tck-i tasted the camigliano and thought it was a low 80's wine. don't waste your money. the banfi was a bit closed and nothing to write home about, maybe upper 80's. the il poggione was closed, but with more structure, high 80's now and the possibility of improvement. if you can find it, the campogiovanni would be your best bet.
on the other hand, if you are already planning on spending almost $50, i would spend a little more and get an oustanding brunello.

| TCK,
I did the same thing: 3-4 bottles each of 3 different bottlings for a mixed case. I purchased mostly because of 1) cost 2) general perceived quality and 3) easily available:
Castello Banfi Silvio Nardi Caparzo Tenuta
