GETTING TO KNOW OUR DELICIOUS NEW ADDITIONS:

2003 Dry Creek Valley Syrah – We now contract this beautiful fruit grown on the western slope of Dry Creek Valley by the row. This is a privilege granted exclusively to us by the growers of the Palindrome Vineyard. This is a classic Syrah! It is smoky, fruity, with hints of leather and rich tobacco. The tannins are in balance, supporting a long and satisfying finish. We love to serve it with venison, pheasant, lamb and aged beef. This wine craves hearty fare, winter hearths and promises warm memories of the western Dry Creek sun. Brix 25.2 producing an alcohol of 14.7%. PH 3.99. Only 350 cases were made.

2003 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel – This is a wine born out of true passion. The weather this past year was a rollercoaster, complete with searing heat and record unseasonable rain, making it a very challenging year for Zinfandel. 16 tons of fruit were picked September 28, 2003. That morning, a little before sunrise, David began pitching the grapes, and he continued until 1:00 a.m. I was there to help shoveling stems – but my part was easy compared to David’s because he shoveled all 16 tons himself! That’s why I like to call this wine "One man, one wine: Divine Zinfandel." The results are stunning: a bold wine with deep layers of black fruit, hints of caramel, chocolate and spice – aged in French and American oak. The Brix were a beautiful 25.5 producing an alcohol of 14.9%. PH 3.55. David blended 2% petite syrah and 3% Dry Creek Valley cabernet sauvignon. Many Zins in the Valley have yet to finish fermentation! We will bottle September 2, 2004. There will be fewer than 1000 cases."
