TJ-- No worries bro! After cleaning out my gutters this weekend, which by the way is a most miserable job, I downed few Coronas w/limes they were quite tasty.
Dude, I had to unclog my gutters, too, this past week. All those funky seed strands from whatever kind of tree that makes them make for a superb drain/gutter stopper.
I had these put on this year. I'm very pleased with them.

Of course if cleaning gutters is an excuse to drink more beer, then never mind.

| Hell, if Willard Scott endorses them they must be good, thanks Bob.
Sorry for the tread drift but I definetly have to get something on these because scaling my roof is not something I want to do more than once. | FWIW:
I tried Allagash Summer Brew 2 days ago. Good beer but a bit odd -- it is sort of like a cross between a good light Belgian (or Allagash) and Sierra Nevada Sumer Ale. Not bad for $7.99/6-pack (12oz, each). And odd in that I grew to like it more as I hit bottle 4 (not because of inebriation -- the beer grew on me). I'll probably get it again when I want a flavorful, but clean tasting and lighter beer.

| Here are some of the beers we tried last night at our wine tasting class. Okay, it isn't just wine tasting since the last two classes are dedicated to beer and spirits
Baltika #4 Dark, Chimay Grande Reserve "Bleu", Lindemans Framboise Lambic, Paulaner Oktoberfest, North Coast Rasputin Imperial Stout, Mendocino Brewing Red Tail Ale
Other highly recommended: Fuller's E.S.B., Young's Double Chocolate Stout

| | I've had all of those beer except for the Baltika which I've never heard of. That list covers quite a broad array of beer styles. The North Coast Pasputin Imperial Stout is really out there. Over 10% Alcohol. The Lindemans is a light fruity beer while the Chimay is much heavier and has what some folks would consider weird flavors. | | | |

| My BOTN was the Rasputin, it is out there but it had a great taste. At first, the Lindemans was my least favorite but after I finished the glass I realized that it probably does have its place in the lineup. It was more like a rasberry cider, very sweet and a little over the top candy taste. But like I said, while the instructor was talking I ended up finishing it.
I've had the Chimay before but it was fun tasting it with this lineup. I was getting that weird taste to it as well but I still enjoyed it.

| | I always preferred the Kriek to the Framboise. Kriek (made with cherries) has more of a bite to it and isn't as sweet as Framboise. | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/ | |

| Whiner, Try and get your hands on the Allagash Triple Reserve. SOOOOO GOOD. It is hard to find but it's really the champagne of beers. They have it at the Brickskeller, and my brother and I drank them out of it one night. | | "It's better to have your enemies inside the tent pissing out, then outside the tent pissing in." -- Lyndon Johnson | |

Agreed, the framboise is too over-the-top sweet. The kriek is a much more balanced drink. I've had the peche, too, which was okay. Anybody tried the cassis?

| | Yes, I've had all of the Lindeman's beers at a party where the guy basically went into a Beverages and More (when they really had a good beer selection) and bought a few of everything (or so it seemed). The Cassis is pretty tasty, a bit tart though. | | | |

| Fred,
Thanks for the info! They have it at the Whole Foods in G-town. I almost picked it up last time I was there. I'll be sure to pick it up next time.

| | I've had the cassis. It's a good balance between Kriek and Framboise, IMO. A little wine-like, actually. | | Visit The Butcher Block at http://www.butcherblocktampa.com/ | |

| Sure, I'll bite.
Right now,
Sapporo, (always with asian food for me) Yanjing Asahi Bass/Guiness Anchor Steam (YAY SF Steam!) Fat Tire Rolling Rock occasionally (or heinikin, they're teh same damn beer!) Killian's Irish Red XX's. A few other messican beers I can't remember right now E and O Trading company in SF had a six beer sampler that had six beers I really enjoyed, ranging from light to dark and they were all flavorful, just cna't recall what they were.
That should be about it.

You know, I drank beer (like a fish drinks water) in DC for seven years and never once actually went to the Brickskeller. Strange but true...
