Wrath Belgian-style Double IPA
"fiercely bitter, spicy and earthy. Its fury slowly and deliberately unfurls on the tongue, relentlessly bringing on more and more layers of flavor with each sip."

Stocked up on 22s of big beers this week:

Unibroue La Fin Du Monde
La Chouffe

and theres a six pack of some barleywine I'm not familiar with.

I'm working to get CellarTracker support for ageworthy beers.

Just saw the Stone Arrogant Bastard at my local Andy's Corner Bar... hadn't tried yet. Any good? I'll definitely give it a try, if only for the name....

I had a bottle of Arrogant Bastard last night. It's great stuff. One of my favorite beers.

If they have it on tap, you'll still have to seek out a bottle for the great label text.

So Brad - were you worthy?

BTW Stone & Dogfishead are two of my all time fav producers. The guys from Dogfishead are really great folks BTW - can't at all say that about the arogant bastard & Co - though I love his beer...

Winoman,

Add Brooklyn Brewing to Dogfish Head and Stone and you have three of my domestic favorites. Of course I haven't had the chance to try Heater Allen Brews yet.

I've only had Brooklyn in bottle (lager & maybe a brown ale) - if its what I'm thinking - and liked it - but can't say I can recall any specifics/ I guess I must try it again if you are putting  it in such illustrious company! Don't know Heater Allen at all...

Big disapointment locally here in NVA...Dominion Brewing - a long time fav (my neighbor in I used to go there and fill 10 growlers at a time!...not just for ourselves of course...even if mostly...) - well Budweiser and Fordham (?) partnered to buy out the original owner last year...and yes just as I feared - they have started cutting the local (more unique and tasty) favorites and have paired down their offerings. Such a great shame...Friday I went in to fill some growlers of Tuppers Hop Pocket Ale and New River Pale (both wonderfully hoppy and quite good)...and well...no longer being made - nor will they be ever again (by Dominion) - nor will they make the (also wonderful) Hop Pocket Pils (or any pils it seems for that matter...). Yes - "too expensive to make considering the limited demand" - of course...weep...

I'm working on some shipping options, probably through a third party (for some reason most shippers treat beer differently than wine). Of course if you're ever in Oregon, you have to stop by!

I was in OR in November, but I tried to contact you through this site which would probably be why I never heard back from you (no one gets the messages I send through the site using Safari it seems). I look forward to trying them though.

I've had Brooklyn's Pennant Ale - that was pretty good. Winoman, if you are into the brew and are in Alexandria once in a while, you should check out Rick's Wine and Gourmet - a buddy of mine is the beermonger there and they have an impressive selection (complete with Saturday beer tastings).

Ah yes... the Stone Arrogant Bastard is a great beer....

The Brooklyn Brewery just visited Andy's Corner Bar in Bogota, NJ, but I wasn't able to go. Andy's has just about EVERYTHING from the local NorthEast area... at least, they get different things througout the entire year. I'm getting into Troegs a little bit now... they make a really nice Cask Pale Ale... though I don't care at all for their brown ale. Really thin.

Just tried the Sierra Nevada ESB... "Early Spring Beer" which was ok... and like all of SN's beers... had some big hops.

Deschutes The Abyss 2007 - more approachable than I expected; softer than the '06 at this age.

For the Superbowl we (I...at least I supplied..) did an all Belgium (style). Allagash (double), Ommegang (several - including cask aged Hennepin!!), Chimay (blond), Trader Joes (yes TJs!...bottle aged several years...it was pretty good - quite malty - though nothing really super special - but hing in there as perfectly fine and acceptable), Duvel, and Delerium Tremens!
