I enjoy coffee, but drink it too much in a rush and for the quick caffeine hit at 6AM. At work, quality takes a back seat to quantity and speed.

Tea on the other hand, I find time to enjoy in more relaxed moments, eg Sunday AM with the paper. I have enjoyed tea since I was 9 and living in Europe.

Any tea lovers out there?

Also, if coffee talk has its' own forum, shouldn't tea as well? See stemor's ?

I enjoy drinking the soft drink known as "Moxie".

It was the first mass-marketed soft drink in the US and is still available in VERY limited quantities and geographical areas today. Basically, I think it is restricted to Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

Still, it's a classic. We need a separate forum for Moxie to keep it from intermingling with the clutter from the coffee and tea.

Don't we?
Cheers, y'all

Tea, Earl Grey, Hot! (for all you Next Gengeration fans).

I love tea. Favorites are Earl Gray, Lemon Zinger and Chamomile. Little bit of honey. No sugar. Rarely a lemon. Good stuff.

jb, I was gonna say that!

I will have to try honey. Just plain clover honey or anything special?

Also, I HAVE to have my Iced tea with Lemon. Not so important with hot tea.

I don't drink coffee but really enjoy all kinds of tea. I'm not big on herbal teas unless medicinal. My favorite tea for some time is a Vanilla Jasmine tea by a company called Golden Moon Tea. Their tea is available at Central Market. It is really excellent tea. This is an unpaid reco!

I enjoy green tea and camomile when I need to relax. Earl Grey is a little strong for me. Lemon and Citrus zest teas refresh me. Definately with Manuka Honey. (ironically it's English name is the Tea Tree, because you could make tea out of its leaves.)

i drink 6-8 cups of tea a day, but not for the caffeine effect. so i usually end up with only 1 cup of black, 2-3 green, 1-2 white and 2 red(obviously white and red have zero caffeine). i am in love with the rooibos red tea recently. when i finish the white i have, i probably will not keep buying. it's way to thin and delicate.

i can no longer drink coffee, major bummer cuz i love it. haven't tried an espresso lately, but coffee wreaks havoc with my innards now. i've really turned to tea. after a read a TN, went to buy lapsong souchang, hated it. i stick to the old standbys, oolong, darjeeling, prince of wales, irish and english breakfast, english afternoon. not a big earl grey lover.

Green tea for me.
Healthy. Very healthy.
Rumour has it that it helps you rid those excess pounds (great after the holdiays!).
Tremendous variety of flavours/styles available.
Japanese Green Ceremonial Tea (powder form) makes an incredible tea.

I drink a lot of coffee as well, but I feel "better" about drinking tea.

A GREAT source for all teas, and certainly for green teas is:

They have a very good website and extremely good online ordering system.

I don't care for plain green tea, but The Republic of Tea Green Tea w/ pineapple and ginger is quite tasty. Love it w/ lemon and Mango Honey Pacifica Honey. Have one each day while at work, it is very soothing. Like JB- like it VERY hot!

I like Harrod's English Breakfast loose tea. Makes a GREAT pot and the flavor is kind of a cross between coffee and tea. Quite good in the morning (those English are smart that way ). A little milk and some toast! YUMMM!

English person here!! Sorry but tea is meant to be had in huge quantities. It should be strong with milk and sugar if you like it. Chamomile, Lemon Zester, Blackcurrant Zinger, Peppermint and cauliflower are not tea, they are teas, which is a general term for hot water with herbs, flowers or other gunk in it. I'm an Assam drinker but for everyday purposes Ty-phoo, which is mostly assam anyway. Lipton's tea is dire and could somebody explain to American hotels that you should use boiling water not just hot. The number of times I've asked for tea in those establishments and they bring a pot of hot water and no real tea - grrrrr

Now the time to disappoint somebody. I hate doing this. Lilac Wine, sorry but Jeff Buckley did not write "Lilac Wine", it was written by James Shelton. Elkie Brooks had a big hit with it over here 25 years ago (next week) but Nina Simone was probably the first. I know it's a shock, a bit like finding out that Tiffany didn't write "I think we're alone now" and not only wasn't it Lene Lovich either but some bloke in the sixties. Sorry My commiserations.

Americans do not understand tea. Honestly. I mean, other than the Star Trek bit about "Tea, Earl Gray, hot!"

I'd love to have my eyes opened on this subject, but I must confess I am much more into coffee....

Au contraire, KillerB. It's my understanding that the lyrics of the Jeff Buckley version are different from the other versions, of which I was aware, thank you very much.

Nina Simone was a huge influence of Jeff's.

Killer

When I lived in Europe, tea was hot, strong, and served in glass (vs porcelain etc). Is there a reason for this?
