| Peets Arabian Mocha Sonaru. Very small beans. Variety of hues. Not as overroasted as most Peets beans. Rich and very complex.

| Today I'm drinking a Guatemalan coffee (from Coban). Not a wow coffee but very clean and interesting.
Last week I had a blend of Ethiopian Harar (2/3) and Mexican Oaxaca (1/3) coffees. It's a interesting blend with good fruit and spice. Have to pick out the less ripe bean out of the Harar tho (they roast much lighter than the fully ripe beans do)...which is slightly annoying.
But...my 'go to' bean/region for the last several months has been then Kenyans. Really fantastic coffees...esp this year. | | | Ladd Cellars | |

| Fred, Kona Peaberry. A variety of Kona coffee where the bean is a round berry, instead of the split/half beans we normally see. Supposedly smoother and just as flavorful. I have had it many times. I find it a notch diferent than Kona, both are very nice and have a wonderful aroma and not a ton of bite, but plenty of nutty and coffee ice cream flavor. I used to get it routinely from Maui Coffee Company. The have a web site - www.mauicoffeeco.com, I think. I am not affiliated with them, I just bought from them many times and had good results. | Love the Peaberry as well. We toured one of the coffee farms in Kona in 2001 when we visited, a great time. Peaberry is about the only coffee that I do not sweeten. | | | |

Glad to hear you're enjoying the french press Bob...one of my favorite ways to have coffee.
Have you tried Peaberry's coffee (in market hall in oakland next to the Pasta shop)? Its been a while since I;ve tried their (and others) stuff but when I was I liked it a lot. Most of them were not overroasted and were quite tasty. I didn't like the espresso's they made there, or the few I had anyways, but their beans were good. | I'm generally too lazy to make coffee in the morning, particularly of the french press method. So, no coffee for me until I get in to the office and drink the available swill. Sad but true. | TJ, Coffee is one of the least expensive geeky pursuits. You can get a French press, roaster, and burr grinder for the cost of a couple nice bottles of wine. Green beans at ~$5 a pound. This hobby pays for itself!  | | | |
