| | I ordered two cases, tasted one bottle, then ordered another five cases. | | | |

| | I just ordered 5 more cases of the ***. That brings me up to 16 of the *** alone. I never regretted buying all of the Darting because there may never be a wine like that again and there may never be a deal like this again. | | | |

| | Hey, it should last for yeras and I love the low alcohol for taking when we go out to dinner. We're taking a bottle with us this Saturday night. | | | |

Just curious...what do you eat with this wine? While I like it as a wine, I am finding it more of an after dinner drink at this point in its evolution.

| | We usually have it with an appetizer. I can think of many it would pair well with. A few examples I've paired this and similar style wines with: smoked trout, escargot, onion soup, charcuterie, mussels in a Cajun broth. | | | |

That makes a lot of sense. The onion soup match sounds good to me. I was just mentally trying to match it up with a main course & having a little trouble. Maybe in 10 years, but not now for me.

| | You could serve it with pork, I think. Maybe a pasta with a cream sauce. | | | |

| | I agree with Board-O on his list, but I would probably take the spatlese instead of the auslese***. Rieslings are great with anything hot, spicy, creamy and rich (foie gras and riesling is classic IMO). I had some oysters with a slightly sweet vinegarette and a riesling went great with it. I do enjoy drinking rieslings after dinner with some raw almonds (unsalted) and fruit that I dry in the dehydrator. | | | |

| | Rare venison and a rich Auslese also works. | | | |

| | All good points, but I will say that I do not like botrytis in a wine that I serve with a meal. (excpt perhaps foie gras) An auslese with no botrytis is ok though, but again I usually give them substantial (10 or more years) of age. | | | |

| | We had this again last night with results consistent with previous tastings. This is a solid 93 point wine with a possible better future. | | | |

| At this rate, you're going to run out of this wine by April!

| | I have 78 bottles left. One will go at our party today for a few of the winos. This wine should age well, but I'll be happy to bring at least one to Florida in April. | | | |

| I've been drinking this pretty fast myself. I think I bought 35 mixed cases so far (maybe 40), but at least 8 cases are gone (gifts and drinking). I know that I am going to regret not buying more some day. I talked to a retailer in NY and he was complaining about the high prices he has to pay for Theise selection wines and he (the retailer) buys it directly from Skurnik (instead of a middleman like in the West). He still pays a very high price and complained that Terry takes a huge cut (his words). He offered me a deal on the 2004 futures (is this the 2nd round?) and the prices were almost triple the prices of this lot from PC. He also said that there is some stigma with the 2003 so that is why it is not moving. I guess it was overhyped early and people were turned off. I told him that I would be interested in a case of the 2004 Darting Durkheimer Nonnengarten auslese and he said that Skurnik is not offering the 2004 because they have so much of the 2003 left. Actually, I am kind of miffed because 9 months ago I ordered a case of the 2003 Darting by mistake because all of the other futures offerings were for the 2004.
I sure hope that PC can get a similar deal for the 2004's. Even if it is not 70% off, I will settle for 50% off, or even 30% off.

| | An update for riesling lovers - the spatlese at Premier Cru is all gone. The ET** and UW*** are still available. I opened all three at the BAWE yesterday (Aussies from Bressler's collection) and all three were drinking very very well. | | | |

| | Had another one two days ago. Remarkably consistent with previous bottles. There seems to be no bottle variation at all. | | | |
