Been meaning to try this wine for a long time & had not gotten around to it. Whatever else it is, this wine is textbook Nahe Riesling. It's rich, but very elegant, sweet, with cherry and fruit salad flavors & has a surprising lash of pink grapefruit after airing for a while. Herr Hexamer appears to be leaning in the Donnhoff direction, as the elegance of this wine is the most memorable trait. I really enjoyed just sitting and sipping the wine. It also matched well with a grilled terriyaki chicken. The balance is right on, so aging will be rewarded.
