Drank August 4th during the Great VC Blackout.

The worst condition of my '71s. A good 3cm+ of ullage. Opened celebrating a friends 32nd birthday. Cork pushed in . Dark tea in color with a nose of apple cider, honey, pear, and a touch of rootbeer. On the palate fairly viscous, still slightly sweet, reminds somewhat of a thin tawney port. Fruitwise it's on the shy side, but there is still some steely lemon there to make it tastey. Perfect balance, and actually quite a long finish. The nose is more interesting than the palate, but it is still a nice soft old Riesling. Drink up, it's almost gone. 84 points.
