2001 Egon Muller Scharzhofberger spatlese (auction) $64.00

Muller wines are always one of the most expensive and the Scharzhofberger is a top vineyard. Since it is an auction wine, famous estate, famouse vineyard, I guess the price is somewhat justified. Generally one of the most intense wines, this one did not disappoint. Some CO2, that blew off quickly exhibiting a great clear nose. Very rich and intense tart apple flavor that was intensified with the stong acids.

Based on the comments that I heard, I'm sure most of the people picked this out at the top wine (out of 18 total).
