2001 Donnhoff Schlossbockleheimer Felsenberg spatlese (auction) $80

Clear floral nose. Nice minerality and strong acids. Strong apple flavors. Tried it 3 times and when the wine is warmed up a little, there is a burst of fruit flavors. Nice finish and pretty impressive, but not worth the price. I've seen it as low as $67, but that is still pretty high when the Donnhoff Oberhauser Brucke spatlese is pretty close and is 1/2 the price.

This is the wine that Terry Theise raved about in his catalog.
