Light straw in color, with peachy lemon and some steely minerality on the nose. Very well balanced, but nice acidity, medium bodied showing the nose on the palate, but picking up some pineapple as well. Medium finish. 89 points.

It would be interesting to by the 2001 auslese (no star) 4 years from now and compare it to the 1997 auslese**.
