From vintner Erwin Tschermonegg: “Oberglanzberg is our best vineyard, and it is growing on very sandy soil. Sauvignon Blanc is one of the oldest grapes cultivated in Styria; it is the grape for which this region is famed. With a bit of air this wine will open up fully and then stay open for a couple of hours, showing notes of vanilla and apricot. Starts incredibly opulent and massive with a ripe nose. Pure cassis and then elements of siliques. Shows the same on the palate. Spectacular. Mouth-filling and dense, yet lively and full of finesse. A long finish. Convincing on every level. We harvested the “Classic” Sauvignon Blanc vintage in September, and this one not long afterwards. It was so hot that we had to harvest early to avoid the alcohol getting too high. This wine will show all of its potential within 2 to 3 years. It's a marathon runner with a great future.”

from Falstaff Wine Guide: Light green/yellow color. The nose shows very fine gooseberry notes. On the palate it is juicy with dark cassis flavors. Very elegant style with finesseful acid and yellow fruit.

from A La Carte: Restrained notes with green vegetable aromas; builds on the palate to a beautiful fruitiness; fine bite, very attractive.
