Purchased from Winebid over a year ago, think it was around $60. 3cm ullage, cork dry on top with no mold and removed almost completely intact. Medium tea color. Riesling is one of the most easily recognizable varietals on the nose to me, but this would have fooled quite a few experienced tasters I think. Wonderfully expressive soft honeysuckle nose could easily have led one to believe mature Sauternes. Some caramel, slight sassofrass, a tinge of green apple. On the palate the wine is extremely elegent with no hard edges, perfect balance, and delicate white fruits. Medium bodied with a just shy of long finish. An absolute delight to drink and an extremely interesting old wine. Probably still has a good 10 to 15 years of life left. Personally, a nearly perfect wine that was a wonderful suprise. 97 points.
