| This is a Terry Theise Selection and an excellent wine. In years past it has not been imported in very large quantities, but this year it seems to be available. Theise states that the wine is not tampered with by the wine maker, it's very "old school" in it's style, and is at it's best a few years after the vintage.
Instantly I noticed the excellent balance of sweet and sour that seems to define the charecter of this vintage. It showed flavors of white fruit and young peaches with a touch of citrus. The wine finishes with hints of green apples and ginsing tea. Overall I would rate this an 88 or 89 point wine. The only draw back that I could find was a lack of the extra concentration that some of the better 01' are showing off. This is a good buy if you see it and is a great example of Piesporter. (a village that can produce fabulouse wines but is often the victim of uninspired producers living off of it's name)

| | Haart produces the only Piesporter that I would buy so I'm not surprised. I've heard the spatlese is very very good and people are happy that Rovani underrated it (I think he gave it a 91), but I have not been able to find any. | | | |
