Just finished "The Zen of Fish" by Trevor Corson. Great book about fish and sushi. Just started "Soon I will be Invincible" by Austin Grossman. Pretty cool, contemporary superhero fiction.

A horror novel called "Ruins". Well-written but depressing in its bleakness.

The Hidden Forest: The Biography of an Ecosystem by Jon R. Luoma
A fantastic read and I'm surprised how easy it was to follow. Mainly about the Andrews forest in central Oregon. He also goes into detail about other scientists who have contributed to the study of botany, canopies, soil biology, entymology, and how this relates to policy set by timber companies and the U.S. Forest Service.

Eric - I'm fascinated by Everest.  Please let us know how it is.

Bought Clapton's book.  Will try to set aside time to read it.

Third Option by Vince Flynn. I really like these Mitch Rapp novels.  I have to space them out to give Mitch time to recover.

Invisible Prey by John Sanford. Another well written mystery/adventure book.

If he's ever in your city for a reading, you have to attend! He is such an interesting person and has some wonderful stories about his previous career as a reporter. And he's open to questions from the audience.

He does answer the question that everybody has in mind...Yes, someone else comes up with the title.

Janet Evanovitch has been quoted as saying the same thing - and that it makes her crazy.

World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks

Super airplane reading - I must really like zombies because I just powered through this book.  Despite the strange subject matter the book is set in the future after zombies have tried to take over the world.  The main character interviews various people around the world about their roles in the Zombie War.  Absolutely great imagination.  A cross between "Day of the Dead" and "28 Days Later".

This one will be one of those movies that can't live up to the book because they can't portray all of the details.

Read that one too and really liked it.  Right now I'm reading Hyperion by Dan Simmons.  Bob Bressler - did you recommend this to me?  Didn't think I was going to like it but it is really good!

Of late it's been Greenspan's book, the Age of Turbulence. Fascinating.

Recently read 'Water for Elephants' and loved it. Also read 'Kick Me' by Paul Feig, the same guy who made the great one-season series, Freaks & Geeks -- very funny.
