| 93 octane petrol (gasoline to you) costs 80.9 pence per liter, or just over GBP 3 per US gallon.
Assuming a current exchange rate of $1.80 per pound, that's about $5.50 a gallon.
So stop whining! | | | |

| Wow, I'm keeping quiet. West Coast prices are brutal
1.87 for 93 last week
1.99 today 19:00 hrs
The flip side is how much do you need to use for work. If you don't drive much it's no biggy[ though I guarabtee other commuter fares will go up].
I work at 2 places, one is 5 minutes wawy. The other one over 1 hour away by car. Can get mighty expensive even at relatively lower gas prices.

| Whatever they charge!
I love using gasoline as quite possibly the closest example of inelastic demand (economically speaking). No matter what the price, people will still pay. They may drive a lot less if the price becomes too much to bear, but they'd still buy some.
Luckily I don't drive to work (walk to train, then take ferry) so we are only a one-car house.

| Regular: $1.95.
Short: I drive much less the last 4-6 months. Not as liberal with distance driving. This is directly tied to these gas prices. I am just one man, but I refuse to give any more money than I have to OPEC & the corrupt oil industry. And, I do not own an SUV. NEVER!
If people have some control & send a message to OPEC, prices will come down. If people keep buying these gas guzzlers, nothing will change.
I know/see so many people that have no kids or 1 kid with these huge SUVs. WHY????????
