So fatherhood has officially begun for me.  Baby Eleanor was born 5.31 and daddy and mommy have been busy caring for her ever since.  Sleepless nights have never been so sweet.

It has been ages since I saw you and I was thinking about you and your wife just the other day.  I'm so happy for you.

James,

Congratulations.  You are going to find that fatherhood is both the most wonderful and most stressful thing in the world.  Especially the wonderful part.  Glad that mother and child are doing well.  Every day will be something new and marvilous.

Perhaps we should make her the official mascot of the DC Crü

Congratulations.  If you haven't done so already getting a night nurse for at least the first couple weeks is very much advisable!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Family and friends have been super in lending a hand -my mom was in town for two weeks around the birth so that helped tremendously.

Haven't had much wine since, but our first wine since our girl was a bottle of Billecart Salmon Rose NV and an Uccelliera 1999 Brunello with some take out Italian my cousin's family brought.

James, that is wonderful news! And Eleanor is such a cutie! Please give our best wishes to your wife and baby.

I was gonna ask you about the Billecart Salmon, did you pop and pour in the delivery room? ;-)

that is wonderful! great to hear the news james. TJ is right, such a cutie!! glad to hear that both Julie and Eleanor are doing well. pay attention, they grow up fast.

(My) Julie will be so happy for you. make sure to let us know if you need any help. maybe we can bring over some food or something (and a little wine), those little guys can take up a lot of mom & dad's time.

Hi Alex, thanks - say hi to Julie and Penn for us. It'll be good to have a little "playdate" sometime this summer.

TJ, Ellie has a sleep button, but it the volume knob when she cries that I have a hard time figuring out...
