I thought I would pass this along. In the 1980's I purchased some new and vintage pens and pencils
(fountain, rollerball, mechanical etc.) made by Parker and Waterman
(who have since merged). But, when I stopped wearing suits, I pretty
much stopped using the pens and pencils too. So, one morning, out of
nostalgia, I pull out a Parker Duofold pencil and saw that it didn't
work as the internal mechanism was stripped. (Note: I may have noticed
this years ago but forgot).
So, I looked up the repair center online, sent the pencil in with
proof of purchase (yes I keep all that stuff) and was notified that it
could not be repaired, but that they were sending me a new one! I was
pretty shocked that after 20 years the warranty was still in effect. My
only complaint (small) is that they aren't replacing the same color
(blue) as it was not in stock. But, hey, I'll take a new one product
anyday.
Pretty amazing customer service.
