| Preseason poll out, no surprise at #1. UNC is going to have an amazing team this year, as well. Not quite sure why Duke bumped up to 11 from 16, especially AFTER Paules broke his foot. On the bright side, at least the games are going to be a bit closer :-D | | |

| I still don't get exhibition games. Duke hosted Shaw and NCCU this week, with both schools coming in expecting to lose by a minimum of 40 points.
The NCCU game was a little closer, and of interest only because the stripper/lying crazy woman in the lacrosse scandal is an NCCU student. You couldn't squeeze another student into Cameron if you tried, and it was one of the loudest games I've seen in a while... Surprised the undergrad crazies kept a lower than expected profile, with rumors of the "Not Guilty" shirts and people waving $1 bills never happening.

| Drew - Have you gotten your signed copy of Coach K's self-laudatory book??? | | | |

| No, but I've given it away as a gift for people helping with recruiting ;-)
Two BC guys got suspended, one of them for 9 games!!! McLain got nailed for passing counterfeit money, which just kills me. Guys are rock stars and top 20 players and they're passing fake 20's.

THese guys may be rock stars, but they don't have any money (at least they aren't "supposed" to have any money since they can't have jobs to earn any money). The NCAA is so screwed up it isn't funny.

| Mike, missed ya last night! I had to listen to "Hoya hoya saxa" for 2/3 of the damn game from some jackass with a giant blue plastic bulldog on his head...
OSU - UNC game was my game of the week. UNC is looking pretty damn tough, but good god OSU looks amazing. Oden looks like a 40 year old man with hands the size of my head. After watching highlights from Valpo - OSU, I don't know who they're going to lose to?

| The guy scores 19 again last night, with 9 boards... and a BROKEN SHOOTING HAND. He's going to eat Pitt just like Wisconsin did :-D UCLA would be a rock star match-up, can't wait to see that one.
Duke is giving me heartburn this year, damnit. The team has found a way to f-up half the game and win every time (with the exception of Marquette, who they were killing and gave up a lead), but damn they sure look ugly doing it. On the bright side, at least the home games are exciting, now. I almost passed a kidney stone during the Georgetown game and last night's comeback was rough.
Managed to land my parents tix for last night's game (they're visiting) and they sat behind Coach K. I don't think they were expecting him to fully lose his mind after Duke gave up an open three without even a hand in the face. Good times, good times.

| At least you aren't rooting for a team that was ranked top 10 preseason then dropped out entirely after going 4-3 in their first seven. That'll give you some labor pains. | | | |

| Anyone else catch the highlights for Texas vs OK St? On ESPN.com, click go big and then double the window. Absolutely RIDICULOUS shots, including a baseball lob from half court as a guy is falling out of bounds. Durant has been an absolute beast the last three games... it's a shame he won't be sticking around for three more years. | | | |

| Pitt puts the smackdown on UConn last night, bringing their recent head to head with them to 5-6. People say UConn/Syracuse is the rivalry but I say this one is.
With that said, Aaron Gray still scares me - If he is a NBA first round pick, that tells me all that is wrong with that league.

| Well, the Duke games are certainly more exciting this year :-D FSU can go to hell, for all I care, apologies or not. No excuse for the crap they pulled after the game, swearing at and flipping off the fans, etc. for almost 5 minutes until their coach literally went over and started grabbing them by the jersies. BTW - I had be happy to send pics from J.J. Redick's jersey retirement ceremony to anyone interested
Missed the SI insert for the Clemson game - they cropped the pic 2 heads short of where I was standing/jumping. Damn! That was my only shot of ever making SI!!!
UNC was looking amazing until NC State put the hurt on them. Should be a fun game on Wednesday...

| Drew. I was actually in an SI photograph in 1965. They were doing an article on Philly college basketball, and they had a shot of the St. Joe's student section... and I was right in the middle of it, beating the booster club bass drum. Fond memories. I have no idea where my copy went. | | | |

Agreed, but I was very pleased UVA beat Duke last week. Bout damn time. Best pair of guards in the ACC.

| UVA played a damn good game at the end - think there was one Duke field goal over the last 8 or 9 mins (including the 5 min overtime). We had a chance to win it twice, and blew it both times. Regardless, damn good game. | | | |

| DREW, I threw up in my mouth while Paulus's shot with 1.0 was in the air. As a UVA grad, that's exactly the way we typically seem to lose! You're right....it was a damn good game. | | | |

| UVA vs MD tonight. Big rivalry. Funny to see the Hoos sitting tied for first in the ACC when everyone predicted that they would finish no better than 8th. | | | |

| Definitely not back here. The Tigers are in a free-fall after a trip to the final four last year and should win the award for the biggest disappointment of college basketball this year. | | | |
