Winetex,

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep an eye out for them.

2004 Red Burgundies in general are a pretty questionable purchase despite the good reviews many have received.  Absent getting to taste a bottle first, I would not buy any (and I really mean any - just pull the cork on an icon wine like Ponsot Clos St. Denis Vielles Vignes and you will see what I mean) wine.

Dan,

Thanks for the thoughts on the 2004's. I figured for the price, ratings and associated TN's, these would be solid choices to try out.

Based on those factors I agree they look like potential buys.  The problem is that these reviews do not emphasize enough imo the green and herbal flavors that are in many of these wines.  I really don't like these flavors - they are off putting in the extreme.

I'm not a big fan of green in any wine. I have yet to sample any 2004's so I'm treading lightly here. Figure I might as well give it a try myself at this these price points and see how they are.

The Vosne Romanee Brulees sounds rather interesting. Unfortunately pre-order at PC but in-stock other places at a higher price.
This now shows in-stock at PC, for $70.

Based on the comments here, I ordered a few.  Now I'm waiting for PC's confirmation ... and a nice long cooling trend so I can have my wine shipped !
