My brother just picked up 3 of these at auction.
Has anyone tasted this one recently...
or ever?

WS gave is 89 points in a 1986 horizontal retrospective
that they conducted 6 years ago.

This wine was never one of Pahlmeyer's best efforts. I would suggest drinking it up sooner rather than later. I last had a bottle about four years ago and the wine was already dropping some fruit. A low eighties point effort. Tannins outweigh the fruit thus I would drink up soon to catch what fruit that is left. Note Randy Dunn was the winemaker for this vintage not Helen Turley.

JW1,
Thanks for the reply. I'll pass your comments on to my (surely to be disappointed) brother.

Soon after release, a lot of reviewers loved the wine. It just hasn't developed the way people thought it would imo.
