| Let's say I was looking for "1999 Fisher". Would the search show it if the thread said "Fisher Vineyard 1999 Chard..."?
I know I could just go try it but this is more fun. Besides it raises my post count

| davidn... I doubt it. I think the engine searches for an exact match to what you requested (in quotes if multiple words). Revlis would probably be able to confirm (or deny) that. | | | |

| If it doesn't (and as far as I can tell it doesn't) we should ask that ALL TVs have the same "format". I know it would be impossible to get 100% but could we make an informal agreement between all of us to do it one way.
My suggestion:
First the full year... like 1997... not '97.
Next the winery's name.
Next the variatal's full name.... like Cabernet Sauvignon... not Cab.
I know this would make it a lot easier for me. I like to look up notes before I crack a bottle.

Pops, I TOTALLY agree with you, dude. I would even volunteer editing the titles if the moderators allowed me the rights to do so (following your suggested strict set of rules, and not editing titles that are incomplete, or at least not filling in 'guessed' information, merely re-aligning the title to what it should read to make it easier on all of us). | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| while we are making suggestions, i think existing dual threads of tns for the same wine should be merged. i don't think there are that many of them & it shouldn't be that difficult. | | | |

I gotta say I was up at 5:30 this morning. Way too early. I've already called JW! a Fat Tire. And there was no way I could get the stupid survey post to work. Thanks Rev.
And one giant suggestion to Rev... Don't let TJ touch nutton! All the TNs will be KEWL!
BTW my format is 16x9.

| A TN (or TV even) template might be a wonderful thing for this site. I remember Rev talking about generating a TN database way back when VC was in diapers. I guess it's in the todo list along with 'chat'. | | | |
