Traffic would double if we went back to the old software.Â

This software is absolutely terrible.  To make matters worse, the site has been incredibly slow for me for days.  I don't see that Brad has done anything regarding the myriad problems for quite some time.  Has Brad given up on the site entirely?  Its a serious question.

I'm out here... a bit disheartened by a lot of things, but still working on the sidelines to figure out a solution.
Not sure why the server was down today... it recovered by itself, though it could've recovered quicker. The beta site never went down.. so it was the .net process that failed, not the server itself. I'll look into it when I get home.

I'll update things further for everyone further fairly soon.

To be fair the software works well for me now. But if it didn't jump to the newest unread post I would be as ticked off as the others posting in this thread. The "Search" problem (ie lack of a proper Search capability) is probably the worst of the structural problems.

I haven't experienced any of the slowness that Dan describes although I have that problem with some other sites.

I did... all day today. Until now, I was totally unable to get into the site from either work or home.

I have a solution for the Search issue.   Essentially, it will be a google search on my site.  It searches the forums very well, and prioritizes correctly the SUBJECT of a forum post...  if you want to test it out yourself, at google.com or in your google toolbar enter in:Â

site:www.vinocellar.com 2003 Bressler

and the first two things it lists are posts with "2003 Bressler" in the subject.
