At Shafer yesterday we had the opportunity to taste a barrel sample of the 2001 HS. This is going to be a killer wine. Huge, huge black fruit with a hint of tobacco and spice on the finish. Even in the barrel it was very drinkable. I can't wait to find out what it is like in a few years. Very yummy.

So I was at Whole Foods the other week and saw that they had quail eggs. Intrigued, I called Mrs. TJ to see if we could think of something to do with them. We opted not to get any since that was the weekend of our great Lobster Bisque experiment.

But it got me thinking, what exactly would I do with quail eggs at home? How would I use them? Got any ideas? C'mon Corkage, I know you have some idea up your sleeve, eh?

I tracked down a wine maker and ask where I could buy some of his wines.
He tells me that he is sending a case to Hi-Times. I call before the wine is shipped and Hi-Times said they woulld call me when it showed up. I get a call today from Hi-Times telling me that they only got a case and I can't have any of the wine. Well as far as I know I was the first one to call about it and now I can't have any wine.


I guess my dollars will not be spent there any time in the future.
