| Posted By Fred on 06/28/2007 3:49 PM Perfectly stated. I had to leave DC because it was easier getting an immigration bill passed then set up a DC Cru dinner.

| I'm likely on "Sabbatical" for July - lol ...but one never knows. I'm tentitively planning to travel to NY (upstate) for the Ommagang Beer Fest later in the month (may still have space in the car for any interested...hard partiers only!) - otherwise also super busy...but August might be more open... | | | |

| Ah, to have a seat at a DC Cru offline (especially at Corkage's) again. Wish I could be there. What's worse is that I haven't had the freedom to join Joe and the DAWGS at one of their events since moving to the Lonestar state. Hope to make a trip back in '07 and join the DC group again. | | | "We are the Hokies!" | |

| I think that July and August are bad months, especially here in DC, for gatherings of the Crü as most folks are taking vacations during that time to get away from the heat (and the tourists. ) I'd love to get together for another dinner if we can. | | | |

| Wow, a month and no posts. I'd love to do a September dinner. The only week I am definitely unavailable is the week of September 10th (I'm teaching a seminar that week and have to be sharp enough in the morning to face 40 lawyers each day.) I wonder if the problem is not just the Crü but also the fact that most of us do not like this new software and forum format so we are not on as much as we used to be. | | | |

| My excuse is that i Dave told me that i can't do dinners when i have a baby . haven't been drinking much of anything lately either... Maybe when Penn gets more than a month or so old and Julie figures out how to pump and dump i can start whittling away at my surplus. maybe , yeah right! I got some 1996 A. Margaine Champagne Special Club the other day. Now it's killing me because i can't figure out when or how to drink it. this weekend it is supposed to dip into the low 80's as a high. that would be a great time for sitting outside and sipping some champers... | | | |

| Au contraire.   Dave predicted, correctly I think, that it would be rare to see Alex Red and Mrs. Alex Red together at a tasting in the next year or so. | | | |

| Yes - Alex, be a good daddy and baby sit. Just send Julie to hang with us once she is able to drink again.  I've been superbusy with work and haven't had much thought about offlines either - it'll be fun to get back into the groove for the fall. Anyone have any ideas on themes or locations? | | | |

| I'd say Italian is a good theme. Or better yet, white Burgs (not that I have any, I keep drinking what I buy!) I'm up for a September thing, but my calendar is filling up but fast already.
What about trying Marcel's for dinner, too. I think they'd treat us right there. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| Marcel's would be nice, but I think a little sedate for our crowd. We could also consider Notti Bianche now that Brendan Cox has moved over there.Â
I'd also like to do a Bordeaux night or another of our steak and big Cab dinners. But that is a thought for a little more into the cooler weather (and I certainly hope not to slip on the ice and twist an ankle like I did leaving the Caucaus Room after our first dinner there.)
And Alex, I've always heard that a glass of wine is good for nursing mothers. Find a babysitter for Penn and we'll limit Julie to a glass of the best we have to offer. | | | |

| I'm up for a September soiree...are we talking midweek or weekend? I'm more available on a Friday or Saturday with the exception of Sept 14 due to Rosh Hashanah and Sept 21/22 due to Yom Kippur. Some midweek travel during the first and last weeks of the month, so I'll see what I can do to attend if midweek is the choice of the Cru...

| Anyone up for something on Monday night, September 10th ? I arrive Saturday evening (too late for something then) and then to the Redskins game on Sunday - and I won't be in any shape for wine Sunday night ... So that leaves Monday night.
Not sure I want to do kosher wines, but I'm open to many themes.

| Din...
Great idea...how many vintages of Maneschewitz do you have...maybe between the two of us we can put together a very nice vertical...
Will have to advise later if Mrs. T and/or I can make a Sept. 10th dinner.

| Actually, September 10th doesn't work well for me. I'm teaching a seminar all that week (35 lawyers and Senior state officials) and I do not think that showing up on Tuesday morning after a night out with the Cru would be the best way to do things. | | | |

| I just checked my calendar and unfortunately I won't be able to make a dinner on Sept. 10th as I have a dinner meeting to attend in Baltimore.
If another date is ultimately chosen, I'll advise, but I can't do it on the 10th. Sorry Scott...
