| Fred, wish you were here, my friend!
No problem with the numbers - going down is not a problem, and we have a few more days before I give them a more concrete number. Please let me know by Wednesday 11/29 whether you can make it or not. Dinwiddie has a good point about the closing time, so I'll leave the start time the same, and if a few come a little late, that should not be a problem.
What wines will you bring for us to taste bilnd? It should be in the following categories (please PM me with your selections):
Whites/Bubblies (1)
Rhone-blends (2)
Bordeaux-blends (1)
dessert?
Dinwiddie (1) confirmed with wines
T-Rep (2)
Dave (1) confirmed with wines
Scottj (1) confirmed with wines
AlexRed (2)
newsguy (2)
winoman and wife (2)
raybanz (2)
jaimetown (1) confirmed with wines

| Jaimie - 2 things -
First I haven't decided what to bring yet,,,and as we are tasting blind does this rule out bringing a magnum of something? (or would it be a give-away?)
Second - there is a possibility that a friend will be in town from New York - but I'm not sure when I'll know for certain...whats the possibility he could join us? BTW he is a wine guy and an ex-chef (who has catered some white house events in days past)...he has lots of good stories and likes to talk...but is from New York - and you'll know it! - so he's perhaps a bit brash for our reletively sedate crowd (just warning so you know all the facts...)...I'd cover him for the wine...

| James, since we are definitely looking at two tables I think that you should post the wine choices to improve the odds that the wines can be matched with a second bottle. We can still taste single blind (realizing that there likely will be a slightly different line-up of wines at each table). | | | |

| Dave,
Since most of the attendees (you, me, Scottj, and James being the exceptions) will be couples, I would assume that they are bringing two bottles of the same wine. I told James I'd bring two bottles of mine. So, all that has to be coordinated is you, scott and him. That way, we can have a bottle of each wine at each table. One of the things I have enjoyed about the blind tastings (and if I remember correctly, the very first DC Crü dinner at Equinox was a blind tasting) is that there is no chance for some advance cribbing that may give you a hint about the wines. If I know that a certain wine is going to be in the tasting, I would be sorely tempted to see what I could find out about that wine and see if I could identify it during the tasting. (Hey with you guys, I need every edge I can get.)

| Winoman, a magnum would be a lot of fun. Your friend is also welcome to join us as well.
Dave, I've PM'ed you about matching possiblities with scottj. I'd still like to keep things blind, if that's OK.

| It'd be great to attend and I am sure the wine the food and the conversation will be superb. But....Mrs. TJ and I are out. We've got too much going on with work and the holiday stuff we have going on that it'd be tough to make this. To Mrs. TJ's credit, I got a pass to attend if I'd like, but I had a look at the rest of our schedule for the month of December and all of the stuff we have to do that is 'unscheduled' and, wow, I am busy!
So, sorry to miss it, but I know y'all are more than capable of drinking my share in my absence. HAVE FUN! | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| JT, sorry I am late with the reply, but I am out. I'll still need to be in south-central PA around 6:00 pm and that makes for a very, very late arrival in DC. Scottj, sorry to miss you. To everyone else, happy holidays and hope to see you soon. | | | |

| OK - I'm locking the participants in - and the good news is that you don't have to bring two bottles of a single wine since 1 bottle will sufficiently service 12 people. | | | |
