| I have just been invited to a client's Christmas party on the afternoon of the 9th in Pennsylvania. I still need to be in DC on the morning of the 10th, so I will put myself down as a 60/40 maybe to attend.
Rhone and Bordeaux both sound good to me.

| With all the reds, someone has to bring a white (that'll be me). I'll bring two bottles of one wine. So are we set for Lavandou? Who is making the reservations? | | | |

| Let's see what the final list will be:
Dinwiddie (1, possibly 2) T-Rep (2) Dave (1) Scottj (1) AlexRed (4) TJ, Debbie (2) newsguy (2) winoman and wife (2) raybanz (2) jaimetown (1)
If everyone comes according to this list, it will 19 people. Can we confirm this is correct? It's going to be crazy to have a big party on a busy Saturday night in December - we might have to bring some stemware as well.
I'd love to do a single blind tasting if we can.

| I just talked to a gentleman at Lavandou, and think they can have us at 6pm (it was either that or 830pm - would that be too late?). He is getting back to me regarding stemware/corkage.
We are on for 6pm! Corkage should be very reasonable. I'd love to do this single blind if you guys will entertain me. PM me what wines you wish to bring - here are the categories:
Whites/Bubblies
Rhone-blends
Bordeaux-blends
We can brown bag them and I'll print out a tasting sheet.
As it is a big dinner and such, if I can get volunteers to bring some stemware, that would be a big help to the restaurant.

| barring me having to go out of town on business (unlikely, but still a possiblity), you can count me and my wife in.
so, does each person bring a bottle (so each couple brings two), or does each person bring two (and each couple brings four)? and if each person brings two, does that mean they must be the same bottling (as was mentioned earlier)?
just making sure... | | | |

| One bottle per person is the average - so you and your wife would bring two bottles total.
In this case since there's going to be a large party of two separate tables, it would be great if you have two bottles of the same wine, so everyone can taste them.

| That's no problem - I told the restaurant I'd call back in one week with more definite numbers. Please let me know by next Wednesday if you can make it or not.
Wines should be: Whites/Bubblies Rhone-blends Bordeaux-blends dessert?
Dinwiddie (1, possibly 2) T-Rep (2) Dave (1) confirmed with wines Scottj (1) AlexRed (4) TJ, Debbie (2) newsguy (2) winoman and wife (2) raybanz (2) jaimetown (1) confirmed with wines
I will bring bubblies (two bottles), and enough flutes for everyone. Please PM me with wines that you wish to bring - this should be fun!

| I'll be there !!
It's possible I'll be a little late. My flight is scheduled to arrive at National around 4:45. I'll need to drop my bags off at my hotel in Crystal City before heading to the restauarant, and then catch Metro to Lavandou. I should be there close to 6, unless the flight is delayed.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 9th ! Scott

| Should I push this back to 8:30? Would this help scottj and raybanz? What do others think? We're gonna close down the restaurant anyway, right? | | | |

| I am going to be solo since Karen's doctor just told her no wine and put her on some severe restrictions for eating in an effort to get her sugar levels down. I couldn't see eating all those things and drinking wine in front of her when she wasn't allowed.
I'll PM you james with what I'll bring. I'll still bring two so there will be sufficient to go around.

| FWIW: a 6:30 start would work better for me than an 8:30 start, as i have to work sunday. but i hope to attend regardless of start time. | | | |

| I know that we are planning on closing the place, but I bet the manager is not aware of that if we take the 6:30 reservation. They close at 11pm on Saturdays (according to the Post review) so if we start at 8:30, we will not have our usual four hour debachery. However, either time works for me. | | | |
