If someone would organize the first one we could get together. At that meeting someone could volunteer to be the host for the next tasting. That host would be responsible for getting a place to meet and maybe picking a theme. We just keep passing the host position to volunteers every meeting.

For me a lot depends on the number of people that will want to come. I am not interested if it gets too big (we should have such a problem). IMO the right number of people is 10-12 at a tasting. Any more than that and you can't sit at a single table. It also means that everyone will be able to get a taste of every bottle. I don't like these deals where there is pretty much two different tastings going on; one at each end of the table. I want to be able to talk with everyone and not have to yell.
