Well, let's see who's even coming so far?

Brad (maybe a few more)
STW (1 or 2?)
TBird (2)
LCC (2)
ItalianWino (1)
ojeffso (2)

For wine, yes, most likely an assortment. So far seems to be mostly California, and I was thinking of a couple Spanish wines.

I'll probably have "typical" fare... Assorted Meats and cheeses, an entree and desserts. No pizza.... and no STW or Ojeffso... not even pizza with foie gras.

Well it looks like I am not keeping as good an inventory of my wines as I thought. The '97 Le Puzzle and '97 Von Strasser have been consumed. (I thought I had 1 more of each left). I suppose since my name is Italian Wino I should bring an Italian red. I may bring a Tua Rita. I will report back with some choices.

Brad -

Put us down for 2. We'll be there around 4:30 - 5:00 with Italian Wino in tow (assuming his flight's on time!).

Anything other than wine we can bring?

Sounds great guys. Nothing else is necessary to bring, but thank you for asking.

Make sure you are all wearing your Steeler jerseys!

I will not be attending any social SB party this year - it is a working outing for me - serious (and focused) fans only.

GO STEELERS!

So funny thing... about a week ago my LCD RPTV went crazy... the Red LCD panel had a short or did something in which a whole mess of red pixels were stuck the screen. Here I am, hosting the Superbowl... with a crap tv. Well, let's just say... thank the gods of the Sears Master Protection Program. A $399 program saved me $1100 + labor in repairs... the TV is good to go... in all it's High Definition glory. I'm am little concerned about the three extra screws they had... *shrug*

What do you think of me bringing a 1997 Pio Cesare Barolo (WS #7 of top 100 in 2001). Has anyone had this recently? I am not sure if it is drinking well right now. If it is shut down I will certainly find another red to bring.

I haven't had it, but you might certainly want to wait on a '97 Barolo for your own benefit. My '98's are still entirely too young to drink. However, I would never stop you.. :-)

I have decided to bring the 2003 Melville "Donna's" Syrah and a white Burgundy from 2002. This syrah is a great wine with food.

I have been watching this thread passively for a while with growing envy but no hope of attending, until - I just heard from Mrs. VT that I was on my own for Superbowl this year!

And then I see KB Pinots ...

.. it adds up to a definite possibility that I can be there to watch the Seahawks win their first superbowl.

Brad: Help with types of wine I can bring ... will PM a list for guidance.

VT, that's great! Glad you can come!

Will look for your wine list... post it here if you like as well. I think I'll just end up filling in the holes from my cellar based on what others are bringing.

Brad,

Whatever wine you decide to open I am sure it will be a good choice. You mentioned you may open a really good Spanish wine, I for one would love to try a good Spanish wine. Thanks again for hosting. Now all I need is for my plane to arrive on time.
