Fred, cabs and port are good. I'll PM everyone and send the directions and get everyone's final wine choices. Once done, I'll post the wines and courses.

Dave I suppose you have a dilemma...you can either sit them next to each other so they can hold each others "hand".... or across from each other so feet touch.

I'll select "taking it too far" for $100 Alex.

I'm bringing a Cab and maybe a bottle of Port.

LOL Fred. This thread is getting a little, um, too uncomfortable for me.

Well I hate to break up this little party but apologies all around I won't be able to make dinner next weekend. Some things have come up, parents are coming into town and I'll be swamped. Dave all the best to you and your wife, I'm sure it's going to be a great night but you won't this guy to kick around.

Fred, sorry to hear that, but this is good news for Mrs. Corkage. I have been agonizing over not having a seat at the table for her.

I can offer up some possibles for what to bring....

I could bring an Aubert Ritchie as a white, and I was thinking of bringing a 2001 Bressler as one of the young Cabs.

I also have an experiment of a sweet wine. It's one I bought a while ago that I never drank and it'd be fun to see if any of you could figure out what it is. We could call it a Bizarro Mystery Sweet wine.

What do you all think?

Also, what was the final word on cheese? Officially yes? Officially no? Officially wing it and bring some if you want to?

Fred--Sorry to miss you. I was counting on at least one other person wearing an Aloha shirt.

Yes, it's a shame about Fred. TJ, great selections both. If your Aubert is a 2003, then I can match it if we need a second bottle of white. I am certainly up for mystery wines. JohnnyB may bring one as well.

TJ...you could approach the bringing of cheese in the same manner that Jaime approaches the bringing of wine....always has something special stashed in his bag just in case the moment requires it.

Coolio, y'all. Yeah, the Aubert is a 2003. I'll bring both of those then, with an eye towards bringing some other goodies (or the mystery sweet wine, which will be best described as, er, palate-calibrating).

I think I will bring some cheese, just for fun. I always like having an excuse to go cheese shopping.

TJ, Fred cancelling at the last second sort of took the wind out of our sails. Things are moving along though. Mrs. Dave is out on a sorel hunt, and we've figured out how to seat 12.
