| Corkage and all-- Joyce and I have had an extremely busy summer and now plans into Ocotber are infringing on my play time. We'll be sweating it out in Key West on the date of your dinner- and I'd much rather be eating your fine fare than where I'll be- but duty calls. Keep me in mind for future adventures down the vineyard lane. Norm | | | |

I am not sure I can do it. I would love too, but I think that the last flight back to NY leaves too early for when the event will finish, and the first flight of the morning is cutting it to close for having to be in Mid-town by 8:30am. What time do you usually finish at?

| Hmmmm. OK Amtrak may not be so good, unless you want to stay up really late.
Latest train from WAS to NYP is 8:35pm arriving in NYC by 11:59pm.
Next train after that also from WAS to NYP is 3:00am arriving in NYC by 6:40am.
Guess it is time to check the Shuttles from National. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

Jason, dinner starts around 6 and usually goes until about 10 and we usually retire to the deck for cigarsafterwards. Dulles is under 10 minutes from the house. Raybanz usually does a Priceline search for rooms nearby in Herndon (maybe 10 minutes from my house and has found some deals, he'll probably do the same this time if you want to check with him and if an overnight stay makes this do-able.
If you fly into Dulles on Sat, I'm sure we can arrange to have somebody pick you up, but earlier is better (say before 4PM) since things tend to get hectic before dinner. You can hang out with us at my house.
I should add that last flights out fo Dulles Stan nite leave around 8 so you best bet is to stay overnight Sat and leave out Sun AM. All of the motels should have shuttle service to Dulles.
Let me know if you need more info.

Might be worth checking into. Does anyone know by chance how far(how much time) JFK is from midtown(3rd between 58th and 59th)?
It isn't such a long cab ride. On a Sunday morning it is likely to take about 25 minutes. Maybe even less. BTW, United has an 8:30-9:30am shuttle from Dullas to JFK. Others shuttle to LaGuardia which also isn't such a long ride into midtown.

FIFTH COURSE
RASPBERRY CROSTATA Grand Marnier Berry Sauce, Hagen Daz Crème Brulee Ice Cream
I would never beat up on your menu Johnny B.-style. And I love raspberry crostada. But I'm curious about your post on the "All other beverages" thread:
Corkage's post: "I like shakes but really prefer malted ones. Its kinda hard to find the Carnation malt in the stores now so when I do, I usually buy 2 jars. The kids love malted shakes. I sometimes start with a heavy chocolate (like chocolate double fudge ice cream), add a bananna, peanut butter and a healthy scoop or 2 of malt. Yum. "
I have my doubts that you really make these animals and need some serious proof of the so-called "yuminess" you speak of. I mean how could that concoction taste even remotely good? Counselor, I need to be convinced.... | | | "We are the Hokies!"

| I think the cap on the # of people is 12, and I think we might only be at 9, or 10 or 11 total presently (Corkage, who's on the official list per your tally?)...So I would think a single bottle, if squozen properly, will allow 12 pours as needed. No need to double up on bottles.
I'd suggest no theme, but to rather bring the stuff you most want to share, or the stuff you have been dying to try, or the 'Dude this wine is great, you have to try it' variety. Sound like a plan? | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| Purple Haze, we are officially at 9 persons, I have 2 friends that some of the Cru have met that are tenative so there is still room. Let me know if you can make it as we'd love to have you. I have a menu change: the rockfish is now replaced by Miso-Sake glazed wild salmon, w/ tomato ginger cream sauce. for wines, I doubt that anything too big will not pair--syrah, pinot noir will probably go best with the duck tamale and boar. We usually have cheese course to clean up any big reds, but I have omitted the cheese course this time. Otherwise, bring whatever you feel like, the plonkier, the better. | | | |

| since plonk is not only allowed but encouraged.....I plan to win the race to the bottom and take the "bringing of plonk" to its logical conclusion by not bring anything....which actually may be better than plonk and thus self-defeating but nonetheless I'm not bringing crap. | | | |
