First one from my own stash, from 375ml. The above note is very similar to my current impression and I am pretty disappointed. Pale straw in color, upon first opening it had a light lemon to it with a touch of honeysuckle that was distinctly similar to young quality Auslese

. It is very clean and crisp, just medium bodied, very dainty in the mouth, with a tinge of coconut, same as Whiner notes above. I would also add I had impressions of vanillan and sandalwood with a couple hours of air time. Noticeably short finish for an '01 Sauternes.
With nearly 24 hours of air it is showing more honeysuckle, superbly, deftly balanced, finishing with a much longer lemonesque essense. Except for the extremely obvious sense of elegance the wine imparts, it bares little resemblence to my memories of last February and probably would only garner a 90 or so rating right now. I'll keep this bottle for a few more days and see if it finds its former glory.
