Grilled Tri Tip with Sauce Choron...Had to look that one up...

Tri Tip is a surprisingly tasty piece of beef. Highly recommended.

fingerfood lazy night
sun came out so had to be outside..
grilled tomato & garlic & smashed them up on grilled olive-oil brushed baguette
petit basque
brie warmed on the grill (wrapped in a thin crust - this worked pretty well)
morel/leek jack chese
3 kinds of stuffed olives
grilled asparagus (asparagii?) with truffe oil & just a squeeze of lemon
more crusty bread
sweet peppers
almonds
a few berries and some chocolate
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is... .ps - friends don't let friends eat farmed salmon.

Last night I watched the most recent episode of Hells Kitchen with my 13 year old son. After one of the chefs botched the risotto a couple of times, my son decided he'd like to try some risotto; properly prepared of course. I called Prima in Walnut Creek to make a reservation.

The risotto on the menu was made with peaches, pancetta and gorgonzola. Interesting, but not the intro to risottoI had in mind. Jose agreed to make a basic risotto with chicken. My son loved it.

I had an appetizer of grilled prawns with cucumber gazpacho followed by Kobe beef raviolis with a light and bright cherry tomato sauce flavored with nutmeg.

Wine: 1993 Qupe Marsanne
