| Disagree-Lo won. Next time , Batali should cook the spaghetti. And check the points, it wasn't close. Now the other match, I would have gone with the guy.It was the potatoe skins that won me over. | | | |

| Note that during the judging, the common response from the judges was "I can't taste the mushrooms in your dish" for Batali. When that started happening, I knew Lo had a good chance.
In the "real" iron chef, if they can't taste the theme ingredient it is all over.

True....
Mushrooms. The best mushroom dish I have ever had was a simple plate of fresh porcinis in Bologna at this restaurant near this museum, somethingsomething musee?, with a bit of seriously good olive oil and some salt and that was it. Unreal how good fresh porcinis taste. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com

| Batali is hard to beat even on his off days. His team provides great support and they work extremely fast. | | | |

| I don't know... that balloon mozzarella was cool! The pizza dough ingredient caught me off guard and seemed a little unfair for English, given he was going up against Batali. That's kind of like going up against Bobby Flay and hearing Blue Tortillas are the secret ingredient.
Glad to see the show is back.

| I got to watch this off and on yesterday and so I didn't catch quite all of it, but all of the dishes looked good. I agree that the mozzarella balloon was tres kewl. But the little tartlet Batali made with the onion topping and porcinis (were they fresh?!) look amazing. And the inventive use of the pizza dough in one dish as 'pasta' and other as the spoup thickener... wow. Very cool | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| The one judge kept saying "Too oily" over and over again. I think she had issues. A close battle. | | | |

| Gonna watch the rerun. Started to catch the tail end, but didn't want to ruin it for me. One question though, where did she come from? Is she just a 'fill-in' Iron Chef or a permanent addition to the staff? | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

| TJ, are you talking about Cat? If you are I believe she is a new permanent addition. I'd expect them to rotate in and out over time.
I'm with you Winetex. Even Martin Yan couldn't help but comment on that as well. | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.

| Mario Batali is the Iron Chef GOD! I love it when he competes. He really elevates the "game" - his dishes are always beautiful and look like they taste beyond wonderful, and he has a sense of humor that tickles me. | | | |

| Love Mario, but as much as I hate to admit it, Bobby Flay is probably the best as a competitor in this format. Remember when he and Morimoto won the team match on Iron Chef against Mario and Sakai? | | | |
