| Part of me feels as though I've already posted too often about this wine; the other part of me just feels greatful that I've been able to drink it so often.
NV Krug Champagne Grande Cuvée -- a fairly recent bottling, this features the new gold label, but inside is the same old stuff: huge yeasty nose; pie dough, apple, lemon zest, ginger, hints of white chocolate, all swirling and dancing with the bubbles across the palate; pretty weighty, mouth-filling stuff; very long finish. Probably more than 95 points, and likely to gain additional complexity with a year or 5 in the cellar. Hard not to love this wine. | | | |

If at all possible, I'd let any champagne rest in the cellar for a few months after coming home from the store. This is especially true if it "just arrived at the retailer" as you said. | | | |

| We have to pay C$185 here, Lilac, but IMHO it's one of the few products that's actually worth it. I'd like to pay a lot less, of course.  Next time I'm in the U.S., that's what I'll be looking for to bring back home with me. | | | |

| Looking forward to this wine tomorrow night. It's my 10th wedding anniversary and I'm BYOing in Philly. I have a 375 of Krug Grande Cuvee and an "as yet determined" special red for dinner planned. The next morning we are off to New Orleans, weather permitting.

| Had this on my birthday, this is the new label cuvee.
Straw yellow with a lively mousse and uncountable pin point bubbles. Brioche, yellow apple, baked breads, yeast and a light honey. Medium bodied with great concentration, delineation and acidity. More baked breads cover the seamless palate as well as green apple, buttered toast and brioche. Big but balanced. 94pts. | | | |

This bottle was one of the new labeled bottles. Definitely a young Krug but has the right stuff. Buy the old labels and hold the new ones for a couple of years. Terrific. (94 pts.) Posted from CellarTracker | | | |

Medium intense nose of yeast, bread, honey, yellow apples and refried beans (??). Medium bodied, medium plus concentration, high acidity. Yeast, dough, bread, apple and honey. Balanced but something seemed off about this, heat stressed? 88pts. | | | |

| NV Krug Brut Champagne Grande Cuvée (WIML93,WA92,WS95)
Tasted October 1, 2005 at an offline so brief comments only. Opened and served immediately in a Riedel Sommelier Champage Flute. Color was yellow, clear hue throughout. Nose of yeast and fresh sliced apples with a little toast hiding in there. Flavors of apples, citrus and a little bread later on. Clean, crisp and quite light and refreshing on the palate. Big Reds in Austin (34th Street Cafe Austin, Texas): New label - Unmistakably Krug but in a lighter fashion. The 375s I've tried have been a bit darker in color and had more weight so perhaps they are bottled differently or age at a different rate. | This doesn't happen very often but last night the Krug was crushed - by spicy crab cakes. We were nicely sipping away when the appetizers arrived. The crab cakes were so spicy that the Krug was reduced to a bubbly shell. However it was good before the food arrived and also with the one sip I had with a cheese. | | | |
