| - N.V. Billecart-Salmon Champagne Brut Réserve - France, Champagne (3/18/2006)
Opened after the first bottle was corked. This bottle included touches of green apples and citrus. There was also a yeasty note but I'm not sure this one has an identifiable style. Lively and fresh but missing some body. It is a very good NV champagne but at $39.99 retail was pushing the limits of what I like to pay for NV. [$39.99 on release] (89 pts.)

| Pale straw, fine bead, moderate mousse with bread dough, lemon tart, minerals, yeast and green orchard fruit. Medium body, moderate complexity, high acidity and long length. Creamy, butter cookies, citrus, stones and orchard fruits, balanced. 86pts. | | | |
