| I had the pleasure of tasting the 01 QC at the Walla Walla blow-out this weekend, and wow is this stuff good - made me glad I ordered as much as I did . | | | 2008: the end of an error | |

| After reading everyone's notes on this, ronmc2 and myself must of had the "dumbest" bottle out there. It was decanted for 3 to 4 hours and never really took off. | | | |

| In Walla Walla one bottle was decanted for two hours and the other barely 15 minutes. There was a distinct difference between the two. Both did not last very long.
It was one of the full glasses of wine I had all weekend. Probably WOTW but I'm still thinking about that. With an excellent hamburger no less.

| Popped one of these a week ago at a BYO restaurant. Opened but not decanted since I didn't want to schlep a decanter on my roadtrip. Solid and most likely shut-down, and somewhat disappointing given the notes from early tasters noted above. 91 pts and will wait until someone with more than my three measly remaining bottles indicates its opening up before I retry. | | | |

| It was my first quilceda purchase, done solely on bansek's "YOU MUST BUY" advice. Shoot me for a mistake once, you won't have a second oppty. | | | |

| my plan was not open another one of these for about 5 years or so but with mudpuppy in town, and the fact he has never had a qc, i decided to brake my promise. we decanted it for about 10-12 hrs and it was still opening up even to the last drop. it is hard to believe this wine comes from wa state. kudos to the golitzin's for making one of the best wines i have ever had. i am begining to wonder, that with the right amount of cellar time and correct storage, if this wine will someday achieve a 3 digit score. for now though it is easily a 98+ pt wine. i am starting to think about buying some more. | | | |

| Ant,
I'm going to be selling most of my '01 Quilceda Creek -- along with my '98 Grange, a few cases of M-P Integrity, and some other bottles that I don't really need at this point in my life.
I hate to part with my QC, particularly since it's made by my hero -- a ChemE that spent most of his career in the pulp&paper biz, with the company that my dad started with some 50 years ago and I aspired to work for someday.
I'm lucky, though: I get to trade one passion for another. I just hope the 10% of my wine collection that I do sell goes to a good home.
If you want some, I'm hoping to get something close to retail pricing for my bottles. I don't want to gouge VinoCellar friends, but don't mind offering first dibs to y'all.

I'd be interested in some, let me know if you do go ahead and put them up for sale.
Thanks. | | | |

| I'm torn here -- I'm hoping for something close to best-available retail pricing, but don't want to offend any VinoCellar friends.
I'll post what I intend to sell, if youse guys promise not to take my asking prices personally. Posts like this over in Lemming Land tend to get out of hand when one or more self-appointed bargain police seem to take offense if the offer isn't at or below original release, lowest available price. I hereby admit and acknowledge that my prices will be INTENTIONALLY higher than what I paid for them ... my financial needs outweigh my other potential motivators. | | | Cheers, y'all

| NOLA Update, for this much read, little posted thread The Hustler Club - .They had this girl, well her parents spent a lot on gymnastics, only standing ovation I've ever seen in a Strip Club. They push the drinks hard though, like "Dammit I'm here for naked girls not another $8 Corona". Cover all the time, VIP lets you reenter Barely Legal - It's funny how everyone claims to be "19". Since I've seen the same girls there for years, it means they start at 12. Cover for guys only. Scarletts - Brand new. Only there for a short time, but service was good and it looked pretty ok. No Cover for couples Rick's Cabaret - Still the best. They have a "Brittney" that looks like Brittney, which was a hoot, and we meet up with some old friends. Ask for Lisa at the bar, she was our bridesmaid last year Can get crowded. Cover for guys, women free, free reentry Crazy Horse - This location across from Utopia and the Hustler has been something different each year. No cover when we went, but it was dead. Nice open space, but boring. One thing I really noted this year was the on Bourbon street strip clubs have become at least 50% couples. Rick's is more like 75%. | | Paul Romero - Owner/Winemaker Stefania Wine www.stefaniawine.com |
