I'm one of 2 people here with a dessert wine as my most common producer

Kracher
JJ Prum
Phelps
Siduri
Quilceda Creek

For a wine site I'm surprised so many people are putting Phelps Insignia down as a producer.

Order keeps changing, but currently:

Lynch Bages (29 x '00, 3 x '96)
Gruaud Larose (29 x '00)
Pride (97, 99, 00, 01)
Montelena (91, 94, 99, 01 futures)

TJ..when are you going to compile the stats on this thread? I'm sure we'd all be very interested in knowing the most popular names folks are holding...

Fontanafredda - 10
d'Arenberg - 10
Rocca della Macie - 8
Produttori di Barbaresco - 7
Allegrini - 6
Montirius - 6

d'Arenberg and Montirus are up there is because I ended up buying six-packs of the 2001 Dead Arm and 2000 Gigondas, respectively, a type of purchase I rarely make.

stealthman:

with antinori number one for me at 5.5% of my cellar, i extrapolated that same percentage for you, that means 1,745 bottles!!! yikes. i need to do some major purchasing to catch up to you.

this is the type of inane stat i would expect TJ to come up with and frankly i'm surprised i beat him to the punch. his computer must be down

I admire the precision and organization skills of the posters.

I have to admit, I haven't a clue of my top 5. No wonder it's so hard finding something to drink on any given night......

I guess I need Seek's help again in getting organized.

Wow has this thread developed! I was gonna get my stats hat on and start, but you all already commented on that and then there goes LCC stat-ing things out!

Wild!

You all make-a me so proud!

Now, exactly how many bottles/cases are each person's top 5 holding and that would be a truly telly stat when organizing the top list by total bottle/case count. This would allow the stats to grant more weight to folks like GATC and stemor who have loaded up on Riesling producers and show their more proper stature in the greater scheme of VC wine inventory-ification.

heh heh heh

The last time we did this, my number 1 was Dunn (you buy 2 cases every year, but can never drink them). Well, Winebid solved that for me. (Dunn is not in the top 45 producers) Currently:
1. Behrens & Hitchcock (so many different wines!)
2. Dalla Valle
3. Araujo
4. Greenock Creek
5. Noon
6. Wendouree
7. Pichon LaLande
8. Torbreck
9. Penfolds
10. Togni

hmm. 4 CA, 5 Oz, 1 French. The top 10 represent 21% of the cellar.
