Nope. Have it quite often. However, in June the DAWGS (i.e. Dallas Area Wine Guzzlers) will be having our June offline at my house. I'll be burning some dead cow on the grill for the group, swimming in the pool and popping the tops on several 2000 California Cabernets. Not sure what everybody else will be drinking! | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.

| I purchased the '99 and passed on the '00 Jones. Does anyone know what their mailing list policy is if you skip a vintage? | | | |

| I have a 2 bottles of this left and some 1 1/2 inch strips in the fridge for tonight's Cowboy game. I might just pop this one myself. Did you decant (i.e. for sediment or air) Gus? | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| joe, i decanted for an hour & a half the saturday before last & i gave it an additional hour yesterday afternoon when i drank another bottle with my brother.
we had several bottles of wine with my version of steak fiorentino (2 & 1/2 inch porterhouses with lemon & olive oil infused with herbs from my backyard garden, grilled on my weber). in order of unanimous preference:
2000 jones estate 2000 bressler 2004 d'arenburg dead arm 1999 bv gdl
this was probably more wine than we needed, since only 2 of us were drinking. the order of consumption was:
04 dead arm (opened the night before & drank 1 glass, re corked & left on the counter)
00 jones
99 gdl
00 bressler
i apologize for not getting back to you sooner. did you open 1 of yours? the 'boys are looking pretty good this year.

| Yep, I popped 1 of my last 2 with a big steak. Nose had some funk to it that blew off with some air time. Probably should have decanted but I didn't. Showed pretty well though overall. | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone. | |

| 2000 Jones Family Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, California, Napa Valley (5/1/2008) WIML90
Tasted May 1, 2008. Opened and served immediately. Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, slightly opaque. Nice but fairly simple straightforward nose of cherries and berries that carried through to the palate with some added flavor of currants and licorice. Moderate acidity, fully integrated tannins, medium body. Only a tiny bit of fine sediment clinging to the glass by the last pour so decanting is optional in my opinion. It did seem to muddle the flavors a little towards the end but not much. Drink now. This was my last bottle. (90 pts.) | | | Joe-----Wine is like potato chips around me...if it's open, it's gone.
