I bought 3 from the mailer with three of the Chards. I will pick up more retail for (hopefully) under the $52 mailer price.

I'd decant for an hour. That should be plenty. None of that Neal Family decant-for-22-hours stuff.

Great wine.

this is one good bottle of juice my friends. right about 7 hrs it really began to hit its stride. reminded me very much of the 96 lynch bages i had last weekend. i need to get some more of this. compared to the 99, it is hard to say, they seem like completely different wines imo. 93pts.

anthony - that counts as a tasting note to me. Guess I'll put this on the buy list then.

i opened and decanted it at 2:15pm then left to go play some softball and football. i ended up going out to grab a sandwich with my friends afterwards. by the time i got back to the wine it was 8pm and right around 9 pm , when the sopranos started, it was really singing.

That, I can understand! I just couldn't be in the same room with the decanter for 7 hours and have anything left.....

I must remember to drink these younger. Dark with a reddish rim, mature but open nose of mulberries and hints of black fruit. Mature cabernet with some tannins left, but drinking rather well. Almost identical with the 2001 Surh Luchtel Sacrasche had alongside, but the edge went to the latter. Medium finish. Have more, will post.
