For some reason, I got one extra bottle of Rose... perhaps because I bought 5 of them last year.

I'm surprised. I got the 54 bottle allocation last Fall.
Got the same allocation as Dave.

I guess only ordering 50 of the 54 got me moved to the seconf tier.... dammit.

By the way, allocations for the spring release are based on your spring purchase from last year.  The fall release (single vineyards) is an independent release, based on purchases from last year's fall release.  The two are separate  Also, in the fall, we release quite a few more wines, bringing your total up a bit more.  Once again, thanks for the support.  I'll be around this week to answer any more questions.  Cheers!

That would make sense for me, as I ordered my full allocation last Spring and also asked for (and was granted) extras.  My total purchase from last Spring was 54 bottles. (9/18/18/9).

I ordered 25 bottles last Spring.  (6/8/8/4).  Budman, I am probably a poor person to judge from.  My Fall allocations were identical to the allocations for the rank and file LOD members (the 54 bottle crowd) for the 2003 and 2004 vintages.  In the 2005 vintage the number of bottles in my Fall allocation went up because there were more wines but my allocation of individual wines (e.g., Kanzler) actually went down.  My total allocation was generous, but far below the rank and file LOD.
At end, I am happy to buy anything offered.  I now have more KB than any other wine.

I have some extras of both pinots and the syrah if anyone is interested. Prefer Akron/Cleveland or Pittsburgh areas.

I've decided to only take 0,5,5,2 of my total allocation of 2.,12,12,6. This should make room for new list members.

Cheers!

Are the two lists separate completely or just for allocation numbers?  ie: do I have to sign up for a waiting list for the designates if I'm on the spring release list? or will I eventually get a designate offering?

There is only one list.  They treat allocations differently for the appellations versus the vineyard designates, but they only have one list.  This is not like Shafer with two separate lists.

I HOPE I eventually get the designate offering...
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is... .ps - friends don't let friends eat farmed salmon.

I have pinots & syrah available @ my cost. I took my allocation per request of some to share some bottles. Well, some that asked now backed out. When it comes time to pay, this sometimes happens. I should learn to require money 1st before ordering.

In any case, I have some @ my price for those interested. Thanks.

I picked up my KB at the winery yesterday afternoon and couldn't believe how much wine they had laid out for their pickups this weekend. Enough to fill a UPS truck.
